There are few opportunities where it is possible to praise and reward the efforts of women. The Women Ahead Business Awards achieve just that, giving women the ultimate recognition – that of their peers and business associates.They highlight the hard work, vision and dedication of women and help raise the profile of women in business and the community.

We are very proud to be the only organisation in the local area to host a prestigious and glittering Awards Dinner, gathering the local business community to celebrate the achievements of successful women in business and in their community.


We are delighted to announce the winners of the 2014 Women Ahead Business Awards:

Blackadders Most Enterprising Business of the Year Award:

This award will be presented to the owner or manager of a business over three years old, of any size, who has identified an appropriate market to operate in or has demonstrated creativity in the approach to expansion or diversification.

Winner: Caroline Millar, The Hideaway Experience

Abertay University Dundee Business School Most Promising New Business of the Year Award:

This award is presented to a woman whose business is less than three years old and who has the drive and ambition to determine its success and long term viability.

Winner: Elaine Petrie Kenneth, Fresh inc Medispa

Finalists: Jill Skulina of JACK (et), Laura Lucas of Inspirential Ltd, Toni Shand of Half Baked Beautique

GFI Max YOUNG Woman of the Year Award:

This award is presented to an apprentice, trainee, graduate, employee, director, consultant, partner or self-employed woman under the age of 25 who best demonstrates ambition, energy, skill and vision.

Winner: Laura Cairns, Arbonne and Exchange Communications

Finalists: Rachael Kibbler of RK Fine Art, Joanne Potter of MacroMicro Designs


Royal Bank of Scotland Independent Woman of the Year Award:

This award is presented to a director, consultant or sole trader who has the drive and ambition to determine the success and long term viability of her business.

Winner: Jane Gowans, Jane Gowans

Community of the Year Award:

This award is presented to a woman working for, in or on behalf of a voluntary, community or not-for-profit organisation.

Outstanding Contribution of the Year Award:

This award is presented to an employee, director, consultant or partner who has made an extraordinary contribution to a business, profession or place of work
