The Women Ahead Business Awards offer a unique opportunity for women of Dundee and Angus to be praised and rewarded for their achievements and hard work.

The Women Ahead Business Awards give women the ultimate recognition – that of their peers and business associates – for their vision and dedication.

The prestigious Awards Dinner gathers representatives from the local Business Community, members and non members of Women Ahead, as well as family and friends of the Awards finalists. It is a glamorous event where we are celebrating achievements of women and supporting their business or career.

It was a pleasure to see the 256 guests of the Women Ahead 2014 Business Awards Dinner to take their seats, in anticipation of a fantastic evening ahead of them.

They were not disappointed! In a jovial atmosphere MC Lynne Duffus kicked off the proceedings, followed by the address from Chair Edith Adam.

The finalists were then called to the dance floor to receive their Award and then the Judges joined them for the photocall under the raptuous applause of the supporters.

Time for Dinner, and to the surprise and enjoyment of everyone, a magician was circulating round the tables during the meal fiddling with money, sugar and cards!

Then Provost of Angus Helen Oswald brought the attention back to the Awards by opening the Awards Ceremony with a great speech.

Each judge presented the awards they judged or sponsored. Winners were announced under much applause and sounds of victory!

Time for the raffle with more than 50 prizes to distribute. Judge Mike Kiely was the lucky winner of the top prize of a night at the Hideaway Experience kindly donated by winner Caroline Millar of the Hideaway Experience.

And then, hair down to finish the night dancing away!

"Just a note of thanks and congratulations to you and all the team for such a wonderful occasion on Saturday. It was a great night which must have taken a huge amount of organisation but it certainly was enjoyed by all." (Christine Houston - Finalist)

Congratulations on putting such a fantastic evening - I couldn’t believe how many people there were, and how celebratory and glamorous it was. I really enjoyed the whole experience, and think it was very well run (Emily Dewhust- Finalist)
