Inauguration of City of Dundee Burgess Charity

An opportunity to show your pride in living or working in the City of Dundee, and become involved in promoting Dundee

at City Chambers, Dundee

The event was organised by the seven trustees of the City of Dundee Burgess Charity: Bill Spence, Alison Henderson, Prudence Watson, Robert Burns, Margaret Hutton, Charles Scott and Scott Williamson, and gathered 50 new burgesses. The response from the launch earlier in September was hailed a success for the Charity.

Women Ahead Past Chair Alison Henderson was not available to attend the event, Vice-Chair Wendy Maltman attended.

The City of Dundee Burgess Charity was launched on 7 September to promote civic pride in Dundee and allow the charity to be a vehicle for fund-raising and do good work for the community.

Individuals who enrol as Burgesses will show their support for Dundee, their pride in its people, past, present and future, through supporting charitable and social activities in the City.

The City of Dundee Burgesses will hold public and member-only events throughout the year, with discussions and speakers, ensuring that the Organisation and its members play a part in the City's future. The Organisation will help bring the City together and promote Dundee through Burgesses who are proud of the past and have pride in the future.

We are proud to have Women Ahead represented within the Organisation as one of the founding trustees. We want to ensure that you get the opportunity to become involved, become members and get access to the events and cross-group networking opportunity.
