The event welcomes women with all levels of experience including complete beginners. In fact, Founder of Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club, Victoria Knowles-Lacks wants to see more women come and try their hand at clay pigeon shooting for the first time, it’s the perfect opportunity for both total newbies orexperienced shots who are looking for a good fun day out and the chance to meet new like minded shooting friends.
Established in 2015, National Ladies’ Shooting Day’s mission is to bring women together and get them out clay shooting. Last year the event saw 1,086 women attend at 22 different locations which is a fantastic result for a first time event, but the club hope to surpass this figure this year.
As mentioned, the day will allow women to either try their hand at clay pigeon shooting for the first time, or improve on their existing skills. Joining the women on the day will be fully qualified instructors who will show participants the ropes. The price of the event will also include gun hire, 30 cartridges, 30 clays and ear and eye protection, so there will be no hidden or surprise costs on the day.
Victoria Knowles-Lacks, Founder of the Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club and the National Ladies’ Shooting Day explained what she wanted to get out of the day.
“We want to show that clay pigeon shooting is not just for men, by holding the National Ladies’ Shooting Day once again we want to give more women the opportunity to find out what clay pigeon shooting is all about.”
“We have increased the number of venues to help make it easier for more women to attend. We want women of all backgrounds and shooting abilities to come along and have fun in a safe environment. Plus, it is a great excuse to get out in the countryside and meet some new friends along the way.”
