There are few opportunities where it is possible to praise and reward the efforts of women.
The Women Ahead Business Awards achieve just that, giving women the ultimate recognition – that of their peers and business associates.
The Women Ahead Business Awards highlight the hard work, vision and dedication of women and help raise the profile of women in business and the community.
There are 4 categories for nominations, as detailed below.
The first two stages of application have now been completed.
Interviews with the applicants by a panel of business and professional men and women will be conducted during week starting 13 February 2012 and awards winners will be selected.
Awards will be presented to the winners at the prestigious Women Ahead Awards Dinner on 16th March 2012 at the Apex Hotel.

RISING STAR
A director, sole trader or partner of a fledgling business which has been trading for less than 2 years. An enterprising individual who is able to demonstrate that they have the drive and ambition which will determine the success of their business and its long term viability.
SHOOTING STAR
A director, sole trader or partner of a business which has been in existence for 2 years or more which employs 1–50 people which is financially sound and has a strong brand identity. Achieving success on a local, national or international level with the ability to grow. The individual will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and vision.
SUNSHINE AWARD
An individual working for, in or on behalf of a voluntary or community organisation. A person who has demonstrated great networking and communication skills, possessing the drive and enthusiasm in order to promote the aims and raise the profile of an organisation. An individual who works tirelessly for the benefit of other people and gives back to the community.
SHINING STAR
An employee who can interact at all levels and who can work on their own initiative. An individual who can lead, inspire and motivate their colleagues, demonstrates commitment to the organisation, drives business growth and is willing to go the extra mile. A great ambassador for an organisation.
